Color Inspiration – Kid Spaces

I love designing kid spaces. I enjoy the fun and whimsy that goes along with a nursery. It is almost like getting a free pass in the design world. Anything goes! No limit on color or imagination. Here are some fun colors to bring into any child’s room.

I Saw this painting and loved the muted tones. A very soothing color pallet yet still playful and fun.

In the same tones as above, this crib bedding set called UpTown Giraffe from the Peanut Shell would go beautifully with the grey and muted aqua hues in the painting.

If you are looking for an alternative to soft pink for a girl’s nursery this Mila Crib Bedding Set from the Peanut Shell is stunning! Beautiful corals and teals could stand alone in the bedroom without a theme, or could lead to a non-traditional mermaid themed room!

For girls who are a bit older this Bridget quilt from Pottery Barn Kids is one of my all time favorite bedding choices. I love it so much that I purchased it for my own baby girl. It is fun and playful but still sophisticated enough to last her until the pre-teen years (yikes! scary to think about). The purple is not too bright or loud and pairs perfectly with soft gray colors.

Boys rooms can be so much fun from superheros to a travel theme. The pop of bright orange on this Brody bed set from Pottery Barn Kids can be mimicked on the walls in many different ways.
